Vistamar – The Historic Country House

End of 2025 we have completed the renovation of Vistamar, carefully preserving its architectural heritage and furnishing it with great attention to detail.

Vistamar consists of two residential units: Casa da Alfarrobeira and Casa da Cana.

Each house accommodates up to 4 guests and can be rented individually or together. The two adjoining houses are completely independent, each featuring its own private entrance and privacy

On one side, the view opens onto our natural swimming lake; on the other, it stretches across the lagoon of the Ria Formosa Nature Park, the Ilha de Tavira, and out to the Atlantic Ocean.

Comfort, Design & Heritage

Both houses are equipped with air conditioning as well as wood-burning stoves, providing cosy warmth during the winter months.
Thoughtful design, sustainable materials, and carefully selected artworks from the family’s private collection create comfortable and stylish spaces where guests can truly feel at home.

Handcrafted cement tiles in the kitchens and bathrooms add delicate accents – created by the last master craftsman in the region. Each tile is a small work of art, carrying the legacy of Portuguese craftsmanship. A traditional reed ceiling, and the exposed rammed-earth wall reflect the local architecture and the history of the house.

Important notice: When occasional group events (such as yoga retreats) take place on the wider property, Vistamar remains private and unaffected, as the entire estate is then rented exclusively.
